Black is not a colour

During my family’s sunday thanksgiving dinner, my cousin said I was wearing the colour black. We argued back and forth. Here is the basis of my arguement against his statement.

Premise 1: Colours depend on light to be seen.

Premise 2: In the absence of light you see black.

Conclusion: Therefore black is not a colour.
